This happened because they did not listen to the voice of the LORD their God, but violated His covenant--all that Moses the servant of the LORD had commanded--and would neither listen nor obey.

1 Kings 9:6
But if indeed you or your sons turn away from following Me and do not keep the commandments and statutes I have set before you, and if you go off to serve and worship other gods,

2 Kings 21:8
I will never again cause the feet of the Israelites to wander from the land that I gave to their fathers, if only they are careful to do all I have commanded them--the whole Law that My servant Moses commanded them."

Psalm 78:10
They failed to keep God's covenant and refused to live by His law.

Daniel 9:6
We have not listened to Your servants the prophets, who spoke in Your name to our kings, leaders, and fathers, and to all the people of the land.

Daniel 9:10
and have not obeyed the voice of the LORD our God to walk in His laws, which He set before us through His servants the prophets.

Amos 2:6
This is what the LORD says: "For three transgressions of Israel, even four, I will not revoke My judgment, because they sell the righteous for silver and the needy for a pair of sandals.

Because they obeyed not the voice of the LORD their God, but transgressed his covenant, and all that Moses the servant of the LORD commanded, and would not hear them, nor do them.
